M: I wonder to what extent, around the social signaling piece, how much ego really plays into how NFTs get more heat and more adoption…does a lot of it come down to personal ego in how we get this off the ground?
JG: I'm not sure, it's probably personal for each person, but my take is that more of us are just spending more time online.
And in digital communities or digital spaces. And I think that'll potentially accelerate even more. As video games become even better and we get into AR and VR more and more as well. And especially for people who are younger who grew up with technology and very powerful technology at this point.
…essentially what I'm getting at is that more of our identity is online than ever before. And I think with that comes the desire to essentially reflect your identity in more expressive ways than maybe we're used to, and I think that comes with, what you own on the internet could be just as important to someone as what they own in real life.
Maybe in some cases someone's persona or digital identity is more meaningful to them than their physical identity, if you will.
And I see that as a pattern actually. I think we're just going to want to build more things for people when they're spending time online. And so that's kind of the way I look at it and less about ego and more about just leaning into the digital world, the metaverse I guess.
And so I think that's very exciting. I think it's sort of like ready player one, but I think it also comes with a lot of responsibility as well.
