KIA ORA! HOLA! 你好吗 ! HEY HOMIES! WELCOME to the 1st SUPERTILT newsletter ⚡️
Yep, we're stacking on another juicy Substack to your inbox. But this one is different. And we're gonna tell you why you should be frothing for our weekly downloads.
We are 3 Kiwis. Blaise, Mahoney and Aidan, who have been thrown together in COVID times in the isolated context of New Zealand. Fresh back in NZ from the bigger lights of the San Francisco and Lisbon Tech scenes, Mahoney, Blaise, along with Aidan (a NZ-based entrepreneur and investor) share their uninhibited opinions on the world of tech, as they see it from NZ, and bridging this with the big wide world of tech beyond NZ. 🌉
By TILT, we mean harnessing collective momentum to shift paradigms, lean into a new idea, territory or life path and go full steam at creating impactful ventures.
It’s about radical collaboration, radical candor, radical curiosity, radical iteration (vs stagnation), radical diversity and radical impact.
We stand for saying no to dialing it down, and saying a SUPER big YES to radically questioning the status quo, and always tilting towards boldness. ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Team TILT: Mahoney, Aidan + Blaise

EPISODES RELEASED
📈 SUPERTILT is blowing up! And we're getting listeners from all over the globe.
Check out our latest episodes that have already dropped this year…
In this week's episode on the rise of ‘Silicon Southland’, we explore what the heck is going on with an old aluminum smelter that may well be New Zealand's answer to its own Silicon Valley. We have some quality yarns about the fresh proposal to turn the smelter into a thriving renewable data center and what it could mean for COVID-free NZ to also become a future-forward tech ecosystem from the bottom of the world. We dive into niche international countries that have tackled this, and NZ's competitive edge in this domain.
Forecasting forward, we dig into what the transition from farmers to tech bros would mean for NZ cultural identity, its potential to be a stunning HBO Silicon Valley rival via a new Amazon Prime series, and the region's answer to Burning Man called Burning Horse... @burningman, you have a HOT competitor, that's actually allowed to happen IRL this year. Just sayin'. ;)

MINDFULNESS 🧠 HACK OF THE WEEK:
📦 Box Breathing for Anxiety - Deep and rhythmic breathing helps you calm your thoughts, slow your heart rate, and regulate your autonomic nervous system.
👃 To begin, inhale through the nose for four counts. Hold the air in your lungs for a four-count hold. Maintain an expansive, open feeling even though you are not inhaling. Release the hold and exhale smoothly out the nose for four counts. Keep your lungs empty for a four-count hold. This is one circuit of the box-breathing practice. If it helps, you can imagine these four parts as the crest and fall of waves in the ocean. 🌊
WHAT WE'RE LISTENING 🎶 TO:
Our buddy Gabe just dropped a dope track called Cheap Champagne on Soundcloud which we're really digging. Give him a follow...
...speaking of champagne, a huge freaking cheers to the Harris-Biden inauguration + the path that lies ahead for the US! What a transition... what else is possible??
Coming up…
In our next pod episode we're gonna be diving into the hot 🔥 topic of audio-based social platforms, including a juicy dive into the euphoric rise of the invite-only Clubhouse app. 🧠 ...which just so happened to announce their latest funding round, placing them at 10x their 2020 valuation, at #unicorn 🦄 status. NBD.
Produced with AROHA for you in AOTEAROA NZ aka the COVID-FREE COUNTRY down under aka "asshole of the world" per Mick Jagger (thanks dude). 💙
